My wife snapped at me for no reason. And I said: "wow, are you angry or something"? She said "no".
We all know who's right here, but what's the right thing to do? I wasn't a big enough man to handle the situation well.
I just read "choose happiness" or something, by a Swedish author. Ive touched upon this self help topic of "you're in control of your
own feelings" many times, but it didn't stick until this book. Its like he knows how hard it is to imprint the knowledge, so he just repeats the message throughout the book, adding complexity in a tempo you can absorb, and then finally it all clicks in place.
Some of it is about us humans getting riled up for no reason. Events around us in this world are neutral. Why do we take them personally? Easy to write, extremely hard to change perceptive of. Lets analyze what happened between me and my wife:
Something inside her was not in balance. She maybe was stressed about something, her thoughts elsewhere, etc. And me talking to her made the glass run over. It looked like anger from her, snapping at me. Does it have anything to do with me? No. Does she love me? yes. What does she need? Love. Am I big enough to give it to her? No. I act as the monkey I am by saying: WOW, WHAT THE HECK. I don't deserve this treatment. I feel mistreated. I feel hurt. I also need to make an example of this so that she understands this can't keep happening. There are many mistakes I make here: not am I a big enough person to understand this has nothing to do with me, and that she is feeling frustrated and not balanced and only needs support. I can't even accurately address my feelings of being hurt by admitting that, I say "wow, are you angry or something?" in a sarcastic way to try to "hurt" her a bit or something. pathetic! When people are not In balance they need help and support. The biggest man hugs a man that punches him. I haven't seen it yet, but I hope I will do it one day
2024.10.20 - Artists recognize artists
This one is bad. But its the first one I put out there, so it stays for now
I often say: He/shes an artist. And I think that can be a real thing. It's like the biggest compliment I can give. Paul Graham is an artist.
You see it in his playful writing. In his curiosity. "Linni", a Norwegian rapper, is an artist. There is something in how he doesnt
compromise. I don't even know if he compromises, but I feel he doesn't. I see artists in text, music, products, design, etc. But im not
sure how I classify them. There is something about the creativeness. Artists are a bit rebellious I think.
they really enjoy breaking some rules. Im sure this is related to people knowing the rules in order to be able to break them, I would think artists get to know the rules. They enjoy freshness. They are creative.
